MTC®
Admixtures for ready-mix and precast concrete
MTC® DSR 2
Properties
DSR 2 reduces drying shrinkage by increasing cohesion within the pore structure and reducing the surface tension of the excess water. By reducing the surface tension, the tensile forces acting on the capillary walls are simultaneously reduced, thereby reducing the resulting shrinkage stress.
DSR 2 enables
- a reduction in drying shrinkage of up to 30 per cent, depending on the concrete mix design.
- significantly improved water resistance.
- unchanged properties of both fresh and hardened concrete.
- a reduction in shrinkage in cement-based self-levelling screeds.
Areas of application
- For the production of high-performance concrete and self-levelling cement screeds with reduced drying shrinkage.
- For use in cement-bound structural elements where drying shrinkage cracks cannot be ruled out and serious consequences are to be expected, such as bridge decks, multi-storey car parks, white tanks and safety containers.
- DRS 2 is usually used in combination with a superplasticiser.
